Perfectionism and People Pleasing are Wrecking Your Health with Aubrey Golbek, RD

podcast Apr 01, 2025

In this episode of the Joyful Health Show Kasey interviews dietitian and author Aubrey Golbek about the very real and damaging health effects of perfectionism and pleasing people. Aubrey shares from her personal struggles and also from her work with women across life stages as a functional dietitian.

In This Episode We Discuss:

  1. The spiritual and cultural roots of perfectionism and people pleasing
  2. The wholistic health impact of high stress perfectionism
  3. The keys to shifting away from pleasing people and finding your acceptance in God and His perfection

Aubrey encourages us to prayerfully meditate on Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,  not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

We pray you are able to embrace your journey as God’s masterpiece in progress, and discover the good works you were made to walk and those which were not meant for you.
